Seth is a Professor of Horticulture at the University of Kentucky where he has been a faculty member since 2006. Prior to his appointment at Kentucky, Seth carried out postdoctoral research at Stanford University.

Chris Somerville PhD
Chris is a biochemist who is the Professor of Alternative Energy at UC Berkeley. He was a founder of Mendel Biotechnology Inc, LS9 Inc, and Poetic Genetics Inc. He was chairman of the board of Mendel from 1997-2007 and CEO from 2002-2007. He is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences, the Royal Society of London and has received numerous awards, including the Presidential Green Chemistry Award as a Founder of LS9 Inc.

Heather Youngs, PhD
Heather obtained a PhD in biochemistry from Oregon Health Sciences University. Following postdoctoral studies at Stanford University, Heather was a professor at Michigan Technical University then moved to UC Berkeley where she was a member of the leadership team in the Energy Biosciences Institute. She then led the Bakar Fellows Program for faculty entrepreneurs at UC Berkeley. She is currently a senior scientist with a philanthropy in San Francisco.

True is surgeon at Hagyard Equine, one of the largest horse facilities in the world. He lives in Lexington KY and has strong ties to local agrarian culture and agri-business initiatives in the state of KY.

Steve Pietsch, PhD
Steve is a chemical engineer who worked for 30 years in process engineering for BP and Amoco. He brings a wealth of expertise in process engineering and modeling. Steve has extensive experience in the development, design, and commercial scale up of industrial chemical processes, with a special emphasis on separations and purification.
